Jeep will be at the Geneva Motor Show to introduce a new small SUV or crossover that will be called the Jeepster. Until now, this model is written as a Jeep Junior, but the latest reports show that it was decided that the production model will use the name Jeepster that this manufacturer has used previously on several occasions.
65 years ago, Willys has introduced a small SUV called the Jeepster, and the forerunner of today’s crossovers were extremely popular. So much, that’s the name revived twenty years later, and the same should be done once again for a small crossover which Jeep prepare.
The novelty is based on the Fiat 500X and will come equipped with front-drive or all wheel drive. Spy photos do not tell us exactly how it will look, because on them Jeepster still well masked by the Fiat car. As inspiration for the final look of the car allegedly used the legendary Jeep Willys.
On the technical side, the Jeepster vast majority of its components shared with Fiat model 500X or indirectly, 500L. More specifically, it is expected that it will run 0.9 TwinAir Turbo with 105 hp (74 kW) and the 1.4 MultiAir Turbo which has 160 hp (119 kW) and economical 1.6 MultiJet II turbo diesel engine with 105 hp (74 kW).
